Karv One Design’s TECH-ZEN project in Wuhan turns a commercial headquarters into something closer to a curated environment than a standard workplace. It brings together geometric forms and layered interiors to create a setting that feels modern, yet grounded in everyday use.

The space is structured as a sequence of distinct zones that shift in mood as you move through them. Areas such as the “Interstellar Wormhole,” “Space Capsule Tea Room,” and “Gravity Theater” are designed to feel exploratory, almost like moving through a set of loosely connected scenes rather than a conventional office layout.

Lighting changes, sculptural walls, and reflective surfaces do most of the work here, guiding attention and slowing down movement through the space.

Alongside this experiential approach, the project also functions as a working commercial hub. It includes product display areas and retail touchpoints for brands such as EGGER and Steelcase, allowing the space to operate as both office and showroom. The result is a flexible environment where business, presentation, and daily work overlap rather than sit in separate zones.

What holds it together is a consistent attempt to balance impact with usability. Despite the more theatrical moments, the interiors are still geared toward comfort and day-to-day function, with quieter areas that bring the scale back down to something more practical.

With a total area of 3,869m², TECH-ZEN shows how commercial interiors are increasingly moving toward hybrid formats, where workspaces also carry elements of exhibition and brand storytelling without fully becoming either.
