Quext, a provider of smart-building technology in the US, has introduced OneQuext, a unified platform that integrates technology from Quext, Geokey, and Homebase for multifamily properties.
The launch follows a series of deals that expanded Quext’s technology portfolio. In 2023, it acquired Homebase, a smart-building technology provider, and in March 2025, Geokey, a mobile access control specialist, merged with Quext.
OneQuext combines access control, managed Wi-Fi, smart devices, and resident and property management technology. Existing Homebase and Geokey customers can continue using their current logins, applications, and support channels without migrating.
Access, connectivity and building systems on one platform
The access component integrates Quext and Geokey technologies. Geokey’s hardware-agnostic approach enables the platform to work with locks and readers from different manufacturers, as well as with mobile access credentials.
Managed internet and smart building devices sit alongside the access system. Homebase provides technology for thermostats, leak detection, lighting and energy management.
The platform also includes resident and staff applications, automated leasing, and integrations with property management systems.
Some of the groundwork dates back to Quext’s 2023 acquisition of Homebase. At the time, Quext said the companies would continue developing their respective products while working towards a unified user experience.
Quext also outlined plans to allow operators to use its LPWAN-based network, Homebase’s hubless Wi-Fi architecture, or a combination of both, depending on the property’s needs.
Geokey merger expanded Quext’s access offering
Geokey’s merger with Quext in March 2025 added its hardware-agnostic mobile access technology and broadened the range of compatible locks and readers.
OneQuext now places those access capabilities alongside the smart building and connectivity technologies brought together by Quext and Homebase.
The launch does not require existing customers to move to a new system. Quext said Homebase and Geokey users can retain their existing applications, support contacts and services, with additional OneQuext capabilities available as optional upgrades.
The OneQuext platform provides access control, managed internet, smart devices, resident applications and automated leasing, all within a single technology offering.
