OFA Group launches QikBIM to automate BIM models and construction documentation

BIM production involves turning design information into coordinated models, drawings and documentation, often across multiple stages of a project. OFA Group is seeking to automate more of those tasks with QikBIM, an AI-powered platform for BIM production.

The June release follows an earlier commercial deployment in North America. OFA said in January that QikBIM had undergone internal validation and had been used on live projects before its commercial introduction in the region.

QikBIM automates parts of BIM production, including modelling, drafting and coordination. The commercial version can generate architectural drawings, structural plans, parametric BIM models and documentation to support the permitting process.

The June release follows an earlier commercial deployment in North America. OFA said in January that QikBIM had undergone internal validation and had been used on live projects before its commercial introduction in the region. The software is now available to architects, engineers, developers, contractors and other design professionals worldwide.

The commercial version covers several stages of BIM production, including modelling, drafting and coordination.

Alongside architectural and structural drawings, QikBIM provides automated clash detection and supports outputs in Revit, IFC and DWG.

OFA says the platform can reduce the time required to produce coordinated models and documentation from weeks to hours. The June announcement, however, did not provide comparative project data to substantiate that claim.

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing generation is not listed among the capabilities of the June commercial version. OFA said it would introduce MEP generation in future updates. This differs from its January deployment announcement, which listed automated architectural, structural and MEP BIM models among QikBIM’s capabilities.

Development work predates the commercial rollout

QikBIM follows earlier development work by OFA subsidiary Office for Fine Architecture and Alan To AI Consultancy.

A May 2025 co-development agreement referred to the system as OFA TransBIM and covered AI software for architectural design and for the automated generation of structural and MEP construction drawings. Office for Fine Architecture agreed to pay Alan To AI Consultancy $14,993,500 for the development work.

Later OFA regulatory filings refer to that co-development arrangement in relation to QikBIM.

In March 2026, Office for Fine Architecture acquired a 50% undivided co-ownership interest in specified QikBIM intellectual property from Alan To AI Consultancy for an aggregate purchase price of $17.5 million. The assets covered by the agreement included rights relating to adaptations of US and Hong Kong standards and commercialisation versions of the system.

Under the agreement, Office for Fine Architecture holds final authority over operational, technical, strategic and commercial matters relating to the acquired intellectual property and the QikBIM business. These include decisions on the product roadmap, technical architecture, pricing and licensing.

QikBIM becomes available worldwide

OFA’s existing business includes architectural design and fit-out services for commercial and residential buildings. QikBIM provides the company with a standalone subscription-based software offering that customers can access without commissioning OFA for an architectural project.

The cloud-based platform is available with a free trial and an unlimited commercial subscription.

OFA founder and chief executive Larry Wong said the company wants QikBIM to reduce the time and cost involved in BIM production and the wider design workflow.

OFA plans further updates to the platform, including additional AI capabilities, automation features and integrations with digital construction workflows.
