Hotel Indigo is entering branded residences for the first time with a 280-home development at Ras El Hekma on Egypt’s North Coast.
IHG Hotels & Resorts, the global hospitality group behind Hotel Indigo, has signed an agreement with Egyptian company Mountain View to develop The Residences at Hotel Indigo Mountain View Ras El Hekma. The residences are planned alongside the previously announced 100-key Hotel Indigo Mountain View Ras El Hekma, the brand’s first hotel in Egypt.
A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for the residences. It was attended by Mountain View co-chief executives Wael Ezz and Wael Lotfy, Mountain View Hospitality managing director Ahmed ElMoursy and IHG managing director for India, the Middle East and Africa Haitham Mattar.

Residences planned within gated island community
The development will contain studios and one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Residents will have access to hospitality services and amenities in the adjoining hotel.
The residences form part of Mountain View’s wider Ras El Hekma masterplan, which covers hospitality, residential, retail and leisure uses, along with shared amenities. The Hotel Indigo development is located within a gated island community with 1.2km of beachfront and a private hotel beach.

The project will be accessible to the beach town, including The Lighthouse, The Piazza and The Beach.
IHG currently operates 10 hotels in Egypt under the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites brands. It has another 26 hotels scheduled to open in the country in the coming years.
Greek coastal references inform the design

The architecture and interiors of the residences take their cues from the Greek islands and Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.
Low-rise buildings step down towards the water, with arched openings, pale stone façades and planted terraces. Timber pergolas shade balconies and poolside areas, while swimming pools and landscaped gardens run between the buildings.
The interiors use timber, woven surfaces and a palette of blue, ochre and neutral tones. Arched details used on the façades reappear inside the apartments.

Concierge and hotel services planned for residents
Services available to the residents will include a 24-hour concierge, security and controlled access.
Dedicated leisure facilities, including a fitness centre, as well as a swimming pool, beach and selected Hotel Indigo facilities, will also be available. In-residence dining, housekeeping, laundry and garment care are among à la carte services.
