Eric Trabert-designed Crystal Cove estate listed for $50m in Newport Beach

A custom-built residence in Newport Beach’s Crystal Cove community has been listed for $50m, bringing one of the enclave’s larger contemporary homes to the market.

The property is being marketed by the Khosh Team of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, a California-based residential real estate brokerage. Located at the end of a cul-de-sac, the estate occupies an approximately 18,770-square-foot site with views across the Pacific Ocean, Newport Harbor, Catalina Island, and the surrounding coastline.

Completed in 2020, the residence spans approximately 11,290ft2 across three levels. It was designed by architect Eric Trabert, built by Neilson Construction, a custom home builder based in Orange County, and features interiors by Studio Jackson Design.

Ocean-facing layout shaped around indoor and outdoor living

The residence is arranged around a two-storey courtyard and includes a series of terraces, balconies, and outdoor living spaces oriented towards the coastline. An elevator connects all three levels.

A negative-edge swimming pool sits at the centre of the outdoor areas, positioned to frame views of the Pacific. The property also includes an outdoor kitchen and a pavilion designed for entertaining with ocean views.

Other amenities include a home theatre, fitness centre, office, music studio, and a garage intended for vehicle display and storage.

Design and construction team behind the residence

The project was developed by a team with extensive experience in custom residential work across Southern California.

Eric Trabert leads an architectural practice that has received multiple awards for custom home designs.

Neilson Construction has specialised in custom residential projects in Orange County since 1985. The home’s interiors were designed by Studio Jackson Design, led by Ryan Gordon Jackson.

Height approval sets property apart within Crystal Cove

According to the marketing team, the residence received approval to be built above 30ft, a distinction that is uncommon within the community.

The approval, combined with the property’s location, scale, and coastal outlook, places it among the more substantial custom-built homes in Crystal Cove. The residence is situated on a single-loaded street and includes multiple sets of glass doors opening onto ocean-facing patios and balconies across its three levels.
