Corgan expands education leadership to capture growth in key US markets

Education Architecture

Corgan, an architecture and design firm active across education, aviation, workplaces, and data centres, has expanded education leadership in Atlanta, Austin, Orlando, and San Antonio.

The appointments follow Corgan’s 2025 acquisition of Cooper Robertson, a New York-based architecture and urban design practice with experience in university projects.

Education is one of Corgan’s core sectors, spanning K-12 schools, career and technical institutions, community colleges, and universities. The firm also provides services including master planning, facility assessments, bond planning, and community engagement.

Leadership appointments span four US markets

The appointments span four markets in Texas and the Southeast.

Simon Martinez has joined Corgan’s Atlanta office as Vice President, focusing on growing K-12 work across the Southeast. He has more than 20 years of experience and has worked with districts including Cobb County, Clayton County, and Fulton County.

In Austin, Lance Melton has been appointed Education Studio Leader. He has three decades of experience in educational architecture and returns after eight years in Corgan’s Dallas office. His role includes supporting K-12 work across Central Texas.

In Orlando, Ed Napier has joined to lead the education studio in Central Florida. He has more than 20 years of experience across K-12 and higher education projects and will oversee regional education activities.

In San Antonio, Sylvia Cancino has been appointed Education Studio Leader. A principal at the firm, she has more than 30 years of experience in education design, including new construction, renovations, long-range facility planning, bond planning, and assessments.

Regional hires reinforce existing education relationships

Several appointments are in regions where Corgan already has long-standing education clients.

In Texas, the firm works with Judson ISD, New Braunfels ISD, Marion ISD, Navarro ISD, San Antonio ISD, and Boerne ISD. In Florida, Orange County Public Schools remains a key education client.

The appointments place senior leadership closer to existing district and institutional relationships.

Corgan’s education footprint across US studios

Corgan supports education clients through studios in Amarillo, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, and San Antonio.

The firm’s acquisition of Cooper Robertson expanded its higher education experience, including projects such as the Princeton University Art Museum and the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin.
