Perth’s Swan River waterfront is poised for a major transformation with the arrival of a new Anantara luxury hotel that will anchor the city’s ambitious Burswood Point precinct. The 38-hectare mixed-use development, led by Golden Sedayu and master-planned by SOM, aims to create a connected, pedestrian-friendly neighbourhood blending residential, retail, hospitality, and public spaces along one of Perth’s most iconic riverfronts.
Golden Sedayu is a joint venture between Perth-based Golden Group and the Indonesian developer Agung Sedayu Group.
The hotel, the first of the Anantara brand in Australia, will serve as a cornerstone of the precinct, complementing 15 new buildings that will house approximately 4,500 homes. A pedestrian-focused retail boulevard will further energise the waterfront, establishing a vibrant day-to-night destination for both residents and visitors.
Grant Associates, who provided the landscape design, have reimagined the river’s edge, drawing inspiration from the Swan River’s historic estuarine ecology, known to the Noongar people as Derbarl Yerrigan. Sculpted landforms, rehabilitated foreshore areas, and wetlands will reconnect people with the water, while water-sensitive urban design measures enhance biodiversity and improve river water quality.

Burswood Point represents one of Australia’s most significant urban regeneration projects, signalling a new era for Perth’s riverfront by combining sustainable design, lifestyle amenities, and world-class hospitality in a single, integrated neighbourhood.
