Luxury hospitality company Aman Group and Shinsegae Property, the South Korean developer behind the Starfield mixed-use destinations, have launched a hotel and branded-residence project named Aman Seoul overlooking the Han River in Cheongdam.
The project will be Aman’s first destination in South Korea. It is planned for sites at 52-3 and 52-7 Cheongdam-dong in Seoul’s Gangnam district, with 38 floors above ground, eight basement levels and approximately 70,000m2 of total floor area.

Alongside the hotel, Aman Seoul will contain 49 branded residences, the members-only Aman Club and wellness, dining, retail and cultural spaces. Aman will operate the hotel, residences and community facilities under a long-term management agreement.
Aman Seoul to include hotel, residences and private club
The Aman Club will have a members-only swimming pool, fitness centre and lounge. It is intended as a private community space for residents and Aman Club members.
Spa and wellness facilities are also planned, together with Aman dining concepts and a wider food and beverage programme. Retail and cultural uses complete the mix.
Residents will have access to the project’s wellness, club and dining facilities. Each of the 49 homes is designed with floor-to-ceiling glazing and views of the Han River.
The residences take their cue from Cheongdam’s connection to Cheongsutgol, meaning “the place of peaceful clear waters”, according to Aman.

SCDA designs Aman Seoul tower
Singapore-based architecture practice SCDA is designing the tower. A gridded frame traced with fine copper accents will define its exterior and respond to changes in daylight.
The design also features a sculpted base informed by Shinsegae’s interest in heritage and proportion. Korean spatial traditions and materials will influence both the architecture and interiors.
Aman Interiors has conceived the residences in consultation with partners and craftspeople rooted in South Korean design traditions. The homes’ full-height glazing is designed to frame views across the Han River, the Seoul skyline and the changing seasons.
Shinsegae Property leads development
Shinsegae Property is responsible for the planning, strategy and development of Aman Seoul. Its previous work includes the Starfield mixed-use destinations and premium office projects in South Korea.
Aman is participating in the architecture and design as well as the eventual operation of the property. Its long-term management role will cover the hotel, branded residences and community facilities.
The project follows a July 2026 agreement between Shinsegae Group and OKO Group, the property company owned by Aman chairman Vlad Doronin, to establish a joint venture. The partnership is intended to pursue Aman and Janu hotels and residences as well as mixed-use commercial property developments.
Aman Seoul will join the company’s urban properties in Tokyo, New York and Bangkok. Further projects are under development in Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, Dubai and Singapore.
