Weeks after Eliona became an ABB brand, its software has emerged as part of a new platform for managing data across individual buildings and property portfolios.
ABB has launched Ability BuildingPro Suites, which connects building automation, HVAC, energy, IT and Internet of Things systems in one environment. The software can work with ABB and third-party equipment.
Introduced at Light + Building 2026, BuildingPro Suites collects and organises real-time information from different systems. Owners and operators can use the combined data for energy management, maintenance, space analysis, operational monitoring and sustainability reporting.
Eliona software joins ABB portfolio
BuildingPro Suites incorporates software and intellectual property acquired from Eliona, a Swiss smart-building platform developed to connect operational technology, IoT devices and business IT systems.
Eliona became a brand of ABB Asea Brown Boveri at the end of January 2026. Leicom IQ remains its exclusive distributor and integrator.
The software had already been put to work in Swiss healthcare buildings. At Zurich Children’s Hospital, Eliona supported people counting, medical equipment tracking, indoor navigation and workplace booking. The installation included more than 150 occupancy sensors and over 1,300 anchors used to locate medical devices.
University Hospital Basel used Eliona to monitor and control patient-room conditions. Around 160 room controllers were linked to the building management system through BACnet, while M-BUS and Modbus were also integrated. Staff could locate and control individual room devices through an interactive three-dimensional model.
Six suites cover building operations

ABB has divided the new offering into six suites covering energy, operations, comfort, asset health, space and interaction with the electricity grid. Each contains modules for particular tasks.
Customers can initially select modules for functions such as energy monitoring or asset management, then add others as required. ABB said they can expand the installation without reconfiguring the entire system.
BuildingPro Suites can run on-premises at the building edge or in the cloud. The deployment method can be selected according to operating requirements and policies governing the storage and processing of building data.
An open semantic data model gives information from different equipment and systems a consistent structure. This lets dashboards, analytical tools and automated processes draw on the same set of building data.
ABB describes BuildingPro Suites as “AI-ready”. The launch announcement does not identify an artificial intelligence application included with the software. Instead, ABB said the data structure could support predictive tools and optimisation applications.
BuildingPro adds portfolio-level software
The launch adds portfolio-wide applications to a product family that already covers equipment integration and building-level supervision.
ABB Ability BuildingPro Edge connects building equipment at site level. A 2025 data sheet shows that the Medium Edge controller can handle up to 10,000 data points and integrate BACnet, KNX, Modbus and LonWorks systems. Its openBOS operating system arranges information from HVAC, lighting, shading and metering equipment within a common building structure.
BuildingPro Vision provides a web-based interface for individual properties. Facilities teams can use it to view floor plans, monitor trends, manage alarms and control HVAC, lighting and shading systems.
BuildingPro Suites adds modular applications that can be applied across multiple properties. Building owners, facilities teams, energy managers and sustainability managers can select functions relevant to their work, while systems integrators can configure the software for single buildings or multi-site portfolios.
ABB will sell the software through a utilisation-based model, with the cost determined by the number of connected data points and modules selected.
The company said the system could help reduce energy use and operating costs, improve space use and support predictive maintenance and environmental, social and governance reporting.
