UEI integrates TIDE Touch with Della OS for multifamily energy management in the US

Universal Electronic TIDE Touch

Universal Electronics (UEI), a provider of wireless control and smart home technologies based in the US, has integrated its TIDE Touch thermostat with Della OS to enable centralised heating and cooling management across multifamily residential properties.

The integration with Della Connect, a US-based smart building technology company, enables property teams to manage climate settings across occupied apartments, vacant spaces, and common areas.

Operators can set automated temperature profiles for occupied and vacant apartments, remotely control heating and cooling in shared spaces, and override settings across the property portfolio. Residents access the system via a mobile app.

Automated temperature settings target vacant apartments

Vacant apartments are a key use case. Operators can apply different temperature settings when an apartment is unoccupied, reducing unnecessary heating or cooling while maintaining conditions needed to protect the property.

Operators can also remotely control heating and cooling in common areas, including clubhouses and shared amenities.

Resident controls are separate from those available to property operators, enabling changes to individual properties or to a wider portfolio.

TIDE Touch works with conventional heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, packaged terminal air conditioners (PTACs) and fan-coil systems. PTACs are self-contained heating and cooling units commonly installed through an external wall.

The touchscreen thermostat also has built-in Zigbee coordinator capabilities. Zigbee is a wireless standard for connecting compatible smart-building devices.

Della OS enables property teams to manage thermostat profiles, automate settings for vacant apartments, and identify HVAC inefficiencies that may require maintenance.

TIDE Touch was already aimed at multifamily properties

UEI initially introduced TIDE Touch for multifamily applications prior to announcing the Della integration. At AHR Expo 2026, the company demonstrated the TIDE Touch ecosystem for residential, multi-dwelling, and utility uses.

At the time, UEI highlighted real-time energy monitoring, smart scheduling and configurable rules to automate connected devices.

TIDE was also available as a thermostat option in Della OS+ before the latest announcement. Della listed Honeywell, TIDE and EOS thermostats in the package, with energy management specified for its EOS offering.

Della OS had already been deployed at Regius Square, a multifamily property in Salt Lake City. A case study Della published in December 2024 reported that the property used the platform to connect Interel thermostats with Dormakaba smart locks, PDK access control and a ButterflyMX intercom system.
