Rexera, a RealPage company that automates residential property closing workflows, has won the 2026 BIP Global Innovation & PropTech Award in the AI & Data Innovation category and the Transaction Automation subcategory.
The BIP Global Innovation & PropTech Awards honour forward-thinking technologies, platforms and digital solutions shaping the future of the built environment. Part of the Best International Project platform, the awards recognise innovation across the building lifecycle, from design and construction to transactions, operations and user experience.
Rexera won for automating several stages of residential property closings and reporting substantial reductions in manual work, review time and operating costs. Its agents identify the organisations that hold required records, place orders, extract information, check transaction details and follow up on missing documents or confirmations.
The service covers homeowners’ association documents, municipal lien searches, utility information, mortgage payoffs and condominium reviews. Each process can involve different organisations, ordering procedures, document formats and payment requirements.
Rexera automates the work surrounding property documents

A residential property closing can depend on records held by homeowners’ associations, municipalities, lenders and utility companies. Obtaining a document may require transaction teams to find the correct organisation, determine its requirements, submit forms, arrange payment and follow up by email or telephone.
Document extraction addresses only the review stage. Transaction teams would still have to order the records, monitor their delivery, resolve missing information and verify the results against other sources.
Rexera divides this work among specialised agents. For a homeowners’ association document order, one agent can identify the association and determine how it accepts requests. Other agents can navigate its website, submit forms, send emails, make calls and arrange payment. Once the records arrive, further agents extract the required information, check the results and update the client.
Rexera’s agents do more than analyse documents. They also undertake the administrative work required to obtain, check and act on the information. Fewer stages therefore require manual intervention.
Rexera says its nationwide database covers more than 300,000 homeowners’ associations. The database contains contact details and ordering requirements that help its agents identify the relevant association and begin a request. The database reduces the need to research each association before placing an order.
Verification addresses legal and financial risk
Errors in closing documents can affect payments, contractual obligations and completion dates. Reducing manual work would have limited value if addresses, contractual restrictions, balances or payment information could not be checked.
Rexera uses large language models to extract information from legal and property documents and flag issues that could delay a transaction. For lengthy, unstandardised records, it uses retrieval-augmented generation to extract details from specific documents, including homeowners’ association agreements and property records.
Quality-control agents compare information across documents, client records and communications. They can check leasing restrictions against details obtained by email or telephone, compare addresses, closing dates and seller information with client records and reconcile transaction spending with invoices.
The service also handles payments, invoices and reconciliation across several payment methods. Its agents also check transaction details against invoices, payment records and other supporting documents.
These checks cover information that can affect completion dates, contractual obligations and payments. Rexera combines automated processing with checks on documents, client records and payments.
Reported results show operating scale

A case study published by cloud computing company Amazon Web Services (AWS) says Rexera processes five million pages of real estate documents and facilitates more than 5,000 transactions a month.
Rexera currently serves more than 350 clients, while its agents perform 10,000 tasks a day. RealPage reported in July 2025 that Rexera facilitates more than 1% of US residential property transactions a month.
According to the AWS case study, Rexera has reduced customers’ manual document-processing workloads by 99%. Its retrieval-augmented generation tool has reduced manual review time for large, unstandardised documents by 80%. Customers save an average of four hours in manual document review time per transaction.
The case study also reports a 25% reduction in customers’ operating costs. Rexera says its use of different AI models for separate tasks has produced an accuracy rate above 95%, with less human involvement required in straightforward cases.
The 99% result concerns document-processing workloads, while the 80% figure applies to the review of lengthy, unstandardised documents. The four-hour figure is the reported average saving in manual document review per transaction.
Different models address different transaction tasks
Rexera moved its production systems from OpenAI to Amazon Bedrock in the second quarter of 2024 after a two-week proof of concept and a two-week migration.
Residential property records differ in length, structure and purpose. Through Amazon Bedrock, Rexera selects different foundation models for individual transaction tasks.
Some property records run to hundreds of pages. Rexera uses retrieval-augmented generation to extract key details using those documents as source material. Other models handle processing and communication tasks.
The different models process records of varying lengths, formats and purposes. The automation is not restricted to a single document type or extraction task.
