Salto Systems, a global access control and electronic locking technology company, showcased its building access and energy management systems at HoSkar Night Bangkok 2026, where discussions focused on technology’s growing role in hotel and real estate operations. The event brought together hospitality and real estate stakeholders from across the region.
Discussions also focused on the growing link between access control, energy use, and asset management within hotels and serviced residences.

Access control platforms expanding into building-level systems
A key product in Salto Systems’ portfolio is Salto Space, an access control management system used for administering credentials across commercial and residential buildings. The platform supports a hybrid approach, combining online and offline access management, with permissions updated across connected and non-connected doors through Salto Virtual Network technology.
The company also highlighted XS4 Sense, a room-level control and energy management system that connects door controllers, sensors, and building equipment such as HVAC and lighting systems. The system monitors room occupancy and links that data to energy usage, with automation functions based on sensor inputs.
The systems can integrate with property management and building control platforms commonly used in hospitality developments. As a result, access control hardware is increasingly integrated with other operational systems used to monitor building performance.
Identity and access systems linked with operational workflows in hospitality
Salto said access control systems are becoming more closely integrated with day-to-day building operations in hospitality environments. According to the company, access systems are being used for entry management, contactless guest journeys and improving control over room-level operations, including energy use.
The XS4 Sense mobile application is used during installation and ongoing management of connected devices across properties. It allows operators to configure and monitor controllers and sensors, and make adjustments in real time.

Growing overlap between access control and building management systems
Salto’s presentation highlighted the growing convergence of access control and building management systems in hospitality and residential properties. Access technologies, traditionally focused on security, are increasingly being connected with energy monitoring and occupancy-based control systems.
Platforms such as Salto Space and XS4 Sense are increasingly being integrated with property management and building systems, linking access and occupancy data with day-to-day operations.
